Getting Stuck

Tanner got into this mess all by himself. He was so stuck, he was wailing at me to get him out. Silly little man!

Cape Crusader

After going to the beach, we all came home and showered. Josh was in charge of getting Tanner dried off and getting a diaper on him. After I got out of my shower, I found Tanner walking around completely naked in just his towel. Josh thought it would be funny to let him wander around the house like that. But when I told him that he had to clean up the potential pee/poo off the floor, he finally put a diaper on him.

KFC Date Night

Josh and I went on a date last week to KFC- one of the only American restaurants on the island (with Subway and New York Bagels being the only others, to my knowledge). It's so fun to take Tanner to places like this because he likes to explore everything. He liked the trash bin a lot. We also fed him bits of chicken and mashed potatoes. It was so nice to go to a place that feels like the U.S. It was a fun date!

Birthday Video

Tanner's 1st Birthday

Tanner had a fun birthday yesterday! I can't believe he's already one. It went by so fast. He got to open a present- hot wheel cars and a new pair of shoes!

We had a birthday party for him after dinner, out on the porch with all of the neighbors. We sang happy birthday to him and then he got to eat his very first piece of chocolate cake. As you can see, he went to town. He even smeared it in his hair and ears. Afterwards, I had to strip him down and put him in the shower. But it was worth it because he had a good time!
Tanner tried on his new shoes, and they look so cute on him!

Life of a Med Student's Wife

This is what I deal with every day in the kitchen. Since we don't have a desk, Josh studies at the kitchen table. His materials are scattered everywhere, which makes it really fun to deal with when I have to set the table for dinner.

Oh, and let's not forget the oh-so-important paper about bacteria hanging up above the table, which Josh says will be there until December. Haha.
But, with a little bit of skill, I am able to set the table every evening. I have to say, I'm proud of Josh for what he's doing and how well he's performing in school. But I sure can't wait to be done with medical school! (And Josh is even more excited for it to be over, as you can imagine!)

Learning to Walk

He's almost there! Our little guy won't be walking by his first birthday (which is tomorrow), but I'm sure it'll happen within the next month! He loves to walk with that little pink car on the porch (it's our neighbors'). And he has the balance and coordination to walk. He just needs to not be afraid.
