Dr. Oaks Photo

Here is Josh's official doctor photo that the hospital took for his ID badge.

Splash Pad at Snyder Park

Here are some pictures from our splash pad fun last week. After days and days of unpacking and getting the house organized, we were past due for getting the kids out in the sun.

Our House!

We are finally moved into our house! Well, some of the rooms aren't quite organized yet, but at least we're here and getting settled! Here are a few pictures of all the rooms:

This is the living room (totally not finished). There is my free piano behind the couch. I'm so excited about having a piano!

This is Brooklynn laughing it up with her new Tickle-Me-Elmo that we found at the thrift store.

Here is the totally unfinished family room. It's located between the living room and the kitchen.

Here is our big kitchen, with all new appliances. I really like how much space there is!

Here is the mud room that connects to the kitchen. This is a really nice room to have for storage.

This is the front of the house. It's super old, but it will do for now!

Here is a view of the hospital from our front yard. It's the shortest commute Josh has ever had!

Our driveway is so long, it could easily fit 3 cars, maybe 4.

This is the landing at the top of the stairs. There are 3 rooms and a bathroom.

Here is Tanner's room, with all his train tracks in all their glory. His train set was the first thing he asked for the first day we moved in.

This is Brooklynn's room. The tepee that we got from Erin and Ali for Christmas now has a home! We put it in Brooke's room because Tanner already has tons of stuff in his room, and her room seemed a little sparse.

Here is our really narrow bathroom. The sink is around the corner by the toilet. It's a very weird layout.

This is a small anteroom that leads into the master bedroom. It'll be the new baby's room.

Here is our master bedroom. It only has one small closet, so I'm trying to figure out where to put my clothes (which are currently in a heap on the floor).

Hotel Living

We had to live in a hotel for a couple of weeks while we waited for our house to be ready. The kids loved going swimming every evening, so I got a good picture of them in their swimsuits ready to go. There wasn't much else to take pictures of. We're pretty glad we aren't living there anymore!

Tanner's Logic

Yesterday, Tanner said something that was so totally awesome that it seemed blog-worthy to me. Josh had tweaked a muscle in his back somehow, and it was hurting him all day yesterday. At one point, Tanner urgently said to me, "Mommy! Daddy needs to go to the hospital. He needs a doctor because his back is hurting!" Josh overheard this and said, "Tanner, I AM a doctor. I work at the hospital, remember?" Tanner thought for a moment, and then responded, "Oh... well then Daddy needs to go to work because his back is hurting!"

Back in New Jersey

We are back in New Jersey now because Josh just started his residency in Internal Medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit. I've been taking the kids to a lot of playgrounds lately because there's not much else to do while we wait for our house to be ready. The kids don't mind! (A few of these pictures I took of the back of Brooke's head so that you could see how curly her hair is in this east coast humidity.)

Here is our new Honda Pilot! We love it.

I just had to take a picture of Josh driving to work on his first day as Dr. Oaks.  :)

The Scera Pool

Right before heading back to New Jersey, the kids and I went to the Scera Pool with Heidi, Anna, and Nathan. It was a great start to summertime fun! The kids all had a blast. Brooklynn and Tanner especially loved the splash pad.
