Play Time

Here are some pictures of the kids hanging out together. Tanner is always finding new places to build his train.

Another thrift store find! This grocery cart was a must-buy. Well, at first, I didn't want to buy it, but Tanner wouldn't take no for an answer. Like, really. He pushed it around the whole store, grabbing toys off the shelves and putting them in it as though he were shopping. Then he tried to high-tail it out the front door before paying for it. When I tried to put it back, he wouldn't let go of it. So I had no choice. But I suppose $2 for a grocery cart is a pretty good deal. Josh took the bottom picture, saying that Tanner looked like a little homeless man.

Hide-and-Seek

Tanner loves to play hide-and-seek with me and Josh. When he wants to play, he gets all excited and says, "Mommy, hide-seek! Hide-seek!" He found that hiding spot in my closet all by himself. But the other one was Josh's idea. Josh was helping Tanner hide while I counted, and Tanner ended up on the top shelf of a closet. He loved it so much, he didn't want to get down.

Rice Cereal

Brooklynn is now eating rice cereal! I can't believe she's already old enough for this. But it's very exciting! We're going to start trying cool new flavors soon, like the fruit and vegetable baby foods. There will be more fun pictures to come.

The Library

Last week, I made an attempt to bring Tanner to story time at the Springfield Library. The librarian had told me that it is for toddlers and preschoolers, so Tanner would probably love it (haha, yeah right). So we went, and there were a lot of kids there. I thought Tanner might think it was cool to be sitting with a lot of kids his age, so I had hopes that he might actually sit still with them. But the librarian only got 2 pages into the book before Tanner was bored. He ran out of the room screaming. And that was the end of it. But at least he ran away to do something productive- he ran to the children's section of the library and pulled all the Thomas books off the shelf to read them (like he always does). What a crazy little boy!

Cool Videos

Here are some fun videos for you to enjoy!

New Train

Tanner got a new train from the thrift store. He thinks it's just the bees' knees. We call it his animal train because he likes to put his cow, horse, and chicken in it.
And this little one is starting to play with her own baby toys. She is developing her hand-eye coordination and is getting pretty good at reaching for toys and holding them.

Livingston Mall

I recently discovered the Livingston Mall (it's a 20-minute drive away). They have a really fun play place that Tanner loves to run around in. He could stay there all day if I let him.

Roomies

For Family Night, we set up a bed for Tanner's new roomie... Brooklynn moved in! She has slept in Tanner's room for 2 nights now, and they are both doing great with it! When she woke up in the middle of the night the first night, Tanner remained fast asleep through it all. Then last night, she didn't wake up at all during the night- she slept a 9-hour stretch. This transition is turning out to be easier than we expected!

Oh Man!
