Sleepy Tan

This afternoon, Tanner battled his nap. When I tried to put him down at the usual time, he started screaming and crying, which is very unusual for him to do. He was defiant, and no matter what I did, he refused to go to sleep. After a while, I decided to try a new tactic. To help him wind down, I set him on the couch with some books, and I turned on his Curious George movie. Then I left to do some cleaning. When I came back a few minutes later, I found him out-cold on the couch. It was the cutest thing ever! I couldn't believe he actually fell asleep on the couch. I guess he must have been really tired. Of course, we all know that he takes after his Grandpa Niederhauser!

Bed Destroyer

Tanner recently learned how to fold up his mattress while in his bed. It's kind of a big problem now. He does it all the time. It's funny to me that he thinks it's comfortable to lie on the bars like that.

Tropical Flower

One morning, I woke up to Josh putting this flower behind my ear. He had picked it on his morning run. What a sweet guy! I just had to take a picture because it's such a beautiful flower. There are flowers like this all over the island. Seeing these flowers everywhere is one thing I am definitely going to miss when we leave Grenada!

Couch Fort

I made Tanner a couch fort the other day. I just pulled the middle couch out a foot away from the wall, and then he crawled behind it. We made a game of throwing his BYU ball behind the couch and him going back there to retrieve it and bring it back to me. Thanks, Auntie Erin, for the coolest ball he owns! Tanner knows where he wants to go to school one day. I'd say he's on the right track!

Back to the Beach

We went to the beach this morning, and for the first time in months, Tanner was brave enough to get in the water. It was so much fun! And Tanner had a blast playing in the sand. The top picture is Josh's love note to me, with Tanner chilling in the upper right corner. It was a really good beach day for us.

Back on Our Island

Well, we're back in Grenada now, and it's business as usual. Josh started school this week while Tanner and I got the apartment all cleaned up. We're settled in now and ready to go another 4 months! This picture was taken on campus when we took lunch to Josh.

These are pictures of Tanner with saggy pants. He pulled them down so far this time that you could see his entire bum. And then he sat down on the ground. At that point, we just had to grab the camera!

Last Week in Utah

These are the last few pictures I took on our trip to Utah. The top 2 pictures show Tanner running around with a bag around his neck and a monkey inside. He thought he was hilarious, running around and laughing at himself.
We had a really fun trip to Utah. We enjoyed hanging out with our families and friends-- it felt like a normal Christmas again! Now it's back to school in Grenada, but we'll be returning to Utah this summer for more fun!

Fun in the Snow

Tanner and his cousins, Anna and Nate, played out in the snow one afternoon last week. While Anna and Nate were throwing snowballs, Tanner was busy exploring the snow. It was freezing cold, but they all had a lot of fun.
