Big Brother

Tanner loves being a big brother. He is surprisingly really good at sharing with little Brooke. They "play" together all the time now. Brooke sits and watches Tanner play while she fingers a few of his toys that he allows (I always ask him if she can play with some of his toys, so he gives her 2 or 3 of his "less cool" toys). Oftentimes I'll find him handing toys to her without being asked. It's really cute.

Today, Tanner got to see a real tractor! He was ecstatic. The maintenance crew was doing some landscaping work right outside my bedroom window, and they used the exact same tractor as Tanner's toy tractor. So he ran and grabbed his toy tractor and put it on the windowsill while he watched. One of the workers saw it and gave him a thumbs up. I was really happy because this entertained Tanner for about 45 minutes.

Tanner put some underwear on his arms today and was waving them around like a crazy person. This is my child?!

Brooke is Growing Up

Brooklynn can now sit up all by herself in the shopping cart. This was a very interesting experience for her. She had a blank expression on her face the entire time we were at the store. I think she was a little wary of it all, but she'll get comfortable with it soon.

Practicing her balancing skills and leg strength.

She is getting very mobile. She's not crawling yet, but she scoots everywhere and gets herself into tight situations underneath furniture all the time.

Tanner's toys better watch out, because here she comes!

Random Photos

Brooklynn lately has really been into playing with Tanner's toys. She loves to play with his trains, and she especially loves to mess up the train tracks, which drives Tanner crazy.

Bed Time

This is how Tanner put himself to bed one night. We had tucked him in and said good night, but then he got out of bed to play with toys for a while. Eventually I went to check on him, this is how I found him. All tuckered out.

This is Josh reading a bed time story to Tanner (at this particular moment, he was teaching him how to count on his fingers).

Carpet

I have been looking around lately for a rug to replace our red one, which was really gross and old. I never found a rug within our price range, but I did find a nice big piece of carpet at the thrift store! It is in great condition and looks like it has hardly been used. It's so nice to walk on cozy carpet in our apartment! The kids love playing on it.

Utah Trip & 4th of July

Me and the kids flew to Utah for a short visit at the end of June. We were there for the  4th of July, and we were able to spend time with a lot of the family. Tanner got to hang out with his cousins, Anna, Nate, and Charlie. Nate was the ring leader of the three boys. They all had so much fun together. And little Brooklynn loved her Grandparents. Here are a few pictures from our awesome trip.

 The Gang

Brooklynn loved to use Grandma's sink as a bath tub.

Tanner learned how to pedal a tricycle at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Little mischievous Brooklynn pulled a bunch of Kleenex's out of the box and thought she was pretty cool.
