Ward Halloween Party

Saturday was our ward Halloween party and chili cook-off. Tanner dressed up as Bob the Builder, and Brooklynn was a monkey. Here are a few pictures to enjoy.

Someone in the ward found this picture of us on Facebook and zombie-fied us. Then they used it as a center-piece for this table. Pretty funny.

We got photo-bombed by that guy in the back.

That kid holding Brooke is Isaac Hawkins, the bishop's son. He loves Brooklynn so much, it's adorable! He always asks to hold her every Sunday at church. I've never met another 11-year-old boy who has such a soft spot for babies like he does.

Tanner dominated the trunk-or-treat and came home with a lot of loot.

Even Brooke got to do some trunk-or-treating!

Springfield's Fall Festival

Yesterday, we went to Springfield's Fall Festival. It was a really fun activity! Tanner got to ride a pony, pet some animals, meet Batman, get in the Batmobile, meet the mayor, and play on a big blow-up slide. Josh got to meet the political candidates running for the town council and ask them why he should vote for them. And Brooklynn just chilled in her stroller.

Our Silly Kids

This is how we roll on Sunday afternoons right after church. Nap time!

The kids loved the fort I built for them in the living room. Tanner was pretending that the "dinosaurs are coming!" and he told Brooke to go into the fort with him to be safe. I also made sure they had a bowl of fishies to share so they wouldn't starve while hiding from the dinosaurs.

Brooklynn loves to stand up now and reach high for things. She's growing right up!

Stony Hill Corn Maze

On Saturday, we went to a 10-acre corn maze in Chester, NJ. We went with one of Josh's classmates from school, Richard Huang. We first tried out the rope maze, which was much more difficult than it looked. Tanner was so excited when he got to ring the bell in the middle. Then we did the corn maze, which took 1 hour 15 minutes to get through. It was totally intense! There was an occasional map post throughout the maze to help you figure out where you were, and Richard was dropping a trail of corn kernels so we could tell if we were going in circles or if we had been there before. We eventually made it through! It was awesome.

Tanner slipped and fell into a muddy puddle.

This was a ginormous Candy Land game.

There was a big ship playground that Tanner loved.

This Past Week's Adventures

On General Conference morning, Tanner did arts and crafts. We created this picture of our family. He was so proud of himself for his accomplishment.

Tanner was asking me all morning if he could help me make cookies ("Mommy, help you? Make cookies?"). Although I wasn't planning on making them today, he won me over with his sweet begging. He is quite the cook. Not only did he put the ingredients in, but he also helped scoop them onto the cookie sheet. And of course he got to lick the spoons afterward!

Tanner loves to sing "Let It Go" from Frozen. The only lines he knows, which he sings over and over again, are "Let it go, here I stand, the past is in the past." And then he explains that Elsa builds a castle with her hands. And sometimes he'll explain that Elsa gets a new dress, too. I couldn't get the whole thing in this video, but this gives you an idea (he was distracted by cartoons).

Swinging!

This was 100% Josh's idea.
