Trip to Gouyave

Yesterday, we went to an LDS church meeting on the north side of the island. There's a small group of members up there who meet every week for church in a city named Gouyave (pronounced like "guav"). Our branch president has people from our area of the island travel to their meeting every once in a while to show support. These are pictures of the bus ride. The top picture is a little blurry, but it still shows how small the buses are. They're called reggae buses. Even though they are small, they can pack a lot of people in them. And they drive really fast. The drive to Gouyave was about 45 minutes.
The building that the members meet in is actually the missionaries' apartment. But they still have a church sign out front, which we though was pretty cool.
We took this picture to show how a lot of the buildings are here. They build them up on stilts. (This is underneath the missionaries' apartment.)

Tanner was a good boy during this trip. He did get fussy during Sunday school, but he eventually fell asleep in my arms and took a good long nap. Then he was much happier the rest of the trip. We're hoping he'll be able to fall asleep in my arms during our plane ride in a few weeks (crossing our fingers).
